• TSP Training Skills & PracticeDiscover the value of initial assessment and the positive impact it can have on the achievement of learning outcomes through relevant planning & preparation, delivery, and assessment and the use of evaluation in developing and improving future sessions

  3 Day course

  1 assignment - delivery of a 30 minute micro-teach session and observation of 4 other micro-teach sessions.

  This course is an introduction to the theory and practice of training/teaching. The successful candidate will understand the essential elements of the learning cycle and apply them to a micro-teach session so demonstrating effective training.

• TSP/PTLLS ConversionThis course bridges the gap between the TSP and PTLLS courses, ensuring those who are already in a training role are familiar with the roles and responsibilities of a trainer in formally managing the process of learning by addressing the individual needs of the learner and providing support where appropriate.

  2 Day course

  2 written assignments:

  This course is aimed at those wishing to upgrade from an existing training/teaching qualification to the PTLLS.

  Candidates must provide proof of achievement at Training Skills and Practice (TSP)/Train the Trainer/Professional Trainers Certificate (PTC) to enrol on the course.

• PTLLS Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning SectorThis qualification provides an opportunity to examine the skills needed to deliver training to adults. Understand, the role and responsibilities of a trainer/teacher, how to provide learning support and manage the process from initial assessment through planning & development, delivery, assessment and self-evaluation.

  5 Day course

  1 practical, 2 written assignments

  This qualification meets the minimum requirements for those aiming to teach in the lifelong learning sector.

  Candidates will be able to develop and deliver training programmes, managing and incorporating all the essential elements of the learning cycle whilst supporting students where appropriate with literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
